In praise of Marpa

Hopes and fears, thoughts and tears...

Will we ever realize our grasping and fearing to be dreadful illusions?

Less visible, but ever real, your primordial wisdom manifests here and now.

You know the games played by beings to entertain their neurosis, to be utterly unreal.

Without grasping at what you see, you pray that they might avoid unnecessary suffering.

Love and compassion do by nature tame, subdue and heal the most conflicting situations.

Thus your presence is felt and appreciated by all.

Remembering your example, eminent demonstration of awakening,

Kenting Tai Situ, Pädma Dhönyöd Nyingje,

may your life be long and may the world rejoice in your beautiful qualities.
