Various types of Precious Relics:
For a stupa to be of benefit to others, four items must be put inside it:
1. Relics of the Dharmakaya
This refers to the dharanis, the mantras that were taught by the Buddha
A journey to the remote region of Derge took place in August 2008 in order to collect exceptional material for this purpose.
2. Relics of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Gurus
We have relics of Eminent Masters of the Past such as from :
3. Relics of hair and clothing of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Gurus
We received cloth belonging to Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye as well as some extraordinary realized beings such as XVth and XVIth Karmapas.
4. Relics which originated from a real relic.
We have some of these and I continue to request the major lineage holders to grace us with more relics so important for this project.
For immediate benefit, mandala drawings of wealth gods such as Ganesh and Norgyunma will go inside the stupas. These will be consecrated beforehand, requesting the spirit of the real wealth gods to come and be present in the drawings, energizing them. When such consecrated drawings are put into the stupa much good will come to the land, the people, the crops and timely rainfall will benefit all.
