THEG-CHOG NORBU-I GA-TSAL

Seminar 2008 04 - November 21 to 26, 2008

Amitabha Sadhana

The Heart of Meditation : Amitabha Sadhana
Usually, to enter a buddha-realm, one must have developed considerable merit and removed even the most subtle obscuration; kept very pure samaya, and have attained the first bodhisattva level. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to enter a buddha-realm for ordinary beings. However, due to Amitabha's strong wishing-prayers, anyone who makes a sincere wishing-prayer to go to Dewachen, can be reborn there, regardless to having or not purified non-virtuous karma or reached freedom from disturbing emotions.
The practice of Amitabha leads to the realization of discriminating awareness, which opens to inner wisdom that transcends grasping. It is essential to the development of non-conceptual limitless loving kindness.
Requested by the three main Bodhisattvas, Manjushri, Chenrezig and Vajrapani, Lord Budha Sakyamuni taught the Sutra of the Pure Realm of Dewachen.
During this seminar, Lama Norbu Repa will transmit the long sadhana of Amitabha commonly in use in the Karma Kamtsang Lineage. This sadhana originated as a sky terma discovered by the first Mingyur Rinpoche, and composed by his Guru, Karma Chagmed.
Both aspects, teaching and  practice, will be covered during the seminar, which will provide an explanation of its various parts including adequate visualizations and the making and offering of torma.
Blessing of the land selected for the construction of stupas - Fire Offering Ritual :
The seminar will be ended by the consecration of the site selected for the construction of eight stupas through an Offering Fire Ritual concluding the six month retreat completed at the Centre by Karma Lekshey.
